What makes you a good mentor?
I love giving back. Any lessons I have learned along the way of pursuing my career, I would love to share with recent graduates to help them use their time and effort more effectively.
About Mincan Lu
I graduated from Carleton University in 2014 and have been working in the Marketing and Public Relations field ever since. I have helped both local and international brands successfully gain visibility, drive brand awareness and increase sales through strategic marketing campaigns.
Being in the marketing and advertising industry for over 5 years, I continue to set higher goals for myself and keep achieving them one by one. In 2016, I established first-time partnerships for Rouge Media with international brands and organizations, such as Republic Live, Live Nation, City of Toronto, Design Exchange, Soulpepper, etc. In addition, I was also nominated and shortlisted for Marketing Mag Top 30 Under 30 Awards.
Currently, I work as the Account Manager for Hamilton Beach Canada and lead strategic communications for the brand in Canada, including public relations, influencer marketing and event management. I am also responsible for creative and tactical writing, including media pitches, press releases, newsletters and blog posts.
In my spare time, I love giving back. I have been invited to speak at multiple university workshops (not just at Carleton) giving tips on how to land internships. I would love to become a mentor and continue to inspire more people.
