What makes you a good mentor?
While being a CPA is the foundation upon which I’ve built my career the skillsets that truly set me apart are relatability, agility and strong communications. I am a relationship focused leader who builds trust with key stakeholders (internal and external) to drive for accountability and results. I'm really excited to share this 'secret sauce' with Business Students --- I wish I would have known this when I was in University.
About Jeff Holland
Jeff Holland has an innovative and unique approach to leadership. While he has a strong technical background, what sets him apart is his passion for partnering with stakeholders to achieve success together. He has coached and mentored finance professionals to augment their strong financial analysis skills with communications, business knowledge and negotiation skills. Jeff was asked to develop and lead a newly created FP&A transition at Bruce Power that prides itself on a transition from a transaction and scorekeeping organization to value added, integrated business partners.
Jeff is a well-rounded leader who has parlayed his technical finance leadership skills into an agile leader. While his career began doing debits and credits he has since proven to demonstrate the qualities of an agile leader who can lead a cross-functional team through any challenge financial or otherwise. Most recent efforts include leading a Pandemic Safe Work Planning team to ensure Bruce Power was able to safely execute its major work programs in the early days of the COVID 19 Pandemic. Jeff is currently leading a business transformation effort at Bruce Power that will see the organization employing innovative strategies to improve its cost per megawatt hour creating even more value for the rate payers in Ontario.
