About Michael Curran
Michael Curran is the president of Great River Media Inc., an Ottawa-based company that publishes Ottawa Business Journal, Ottawa At Home, Kitchissippi Times and The Voice as well as Canada’s national running magazine, iRun.
Michael joined the company in August 2010 when, along with Mark Sutcliffe and Donna Neil, he acquired Ottawa Business Journal and Ottawa At Home.
Prior to Great River Media, Michael was the Regional Manager in Eastern Ontario for Transcontinental Media, one of Canada’s largest media companies.
During his 20 plus years in the media business, Michael has acquired experience in all aspects of media, including news, new media, sales, administration, distribution and production.
Before his appointment as publisher of the Ottawa Business Journal in 2003, he served as the newspaper’s editor-in-chief and also edited Silicon Valley NORTH, a handful of annual magazines and directories and produced daily television and radio shows.
Michael is a graduate of Carleton University’s School of Journalism and Communications and a frequent commentator on Ottawa’s business and technology scene for CTV Ottawa and CFRA.
