What makes you a good mentor?
The guidance and support of mentors have been such an invaluable resource in my personal and professional growth and I hope to pay it forward by sharing what I’ve learned with others. As a young professional, it makes all the difference to have someone to bounce ideas off of, go to for advice or know someone is there to listen and relate.
About Brooke Peloquin
Brooke is inspired by storytelling and using multimedia platforms to help organizations make meaningful connections with their audiences. After graduating from Carleton University’s Bachelor of Journalism program in 2017, she dove head-first into the world of marketing and communications. Throughout her career, Brooke has had the opportunity to work with a number of private and public sector organizations, helping them to achieve their communications and marketing goals.
Currently, Brooke is stationed at the City of Ottawa as a Senior Communications Officer. There, she fills her days crafting strategic plans, providing advice and support to staff across the organization and writing engaging traditional and digital communications products. Brooke has also held communications and marketing positions with The Ottawa Hospital (during the pandemic!), Alterna Savings and Correctional Service Canada.
Outside of work, Brooke is an avid photographer, traveller and cook. Recently, Brooke participated in the DOC Insititute’s Short Film Lab, producing a short documentary series on the resurgence of analog photography.
