The Alumni Mentors program pairs motivated upper-year students and recent graduates with an alumni mentor. Mentors are established professionals who help students and recent graduates develop skills for the workplace and expand their professional networks. The program is offered in partnership between the Department of University Advancement, The Carleton University Alumni Association and the Carleton University Students’ Association.
To ensure that your partnership is successful, the program requires that all mentor and mentee pairings connect virtually for 1-hour on a monthly basis from October-April. While the program traditionally encouraged face-to-face meetings we will be asking all pairings for our 2020-22 programs to connect via a video communication platform or by phone.
Be a Mentor
Mentors are Carleton alumni who are seasoned professionals and industry leaders prepared to share their knowledge, resources and passion. Alumni who earned their degree 3 or more years ago are welcome to apply.
Mentoring is a great way to stay connected to the Carleton community and contribute to the success of current and future Carleton alumni.
Be a Mentee
Mentees are either: hard-working upper-year undergraduate students in their third or fourth year, graduate students or motivated recent graduates (Class of ’19 ’20 or ’21).
Mentees can expect to receive guidance to help them navigate various career options, learn invaluable skills for professional development and make new contacts to give them a competitive advantage in the job market.
