Economics Alumni Reception at Throwback 2025 – REGISTRATION
Join us on Friday, October 3, 2025!
Hosted by the Economics Chapter of the Carleton University Alumni Association and the Department of Economics, this annual event provides an opportunity for Economics graduates of all eras, faculty and staff to gather on campus to reconnect, network and socialize.
The evening will include a light reception, welcome remarks by representatives of the Economics Chapter, Faculty of Public and Global Affairs, and the Department of Economics. We are also very pleased to feature esteemed economist Christina Caron as our keynote speaker.
Christina Caron’s career as an economist and executive has included positions in the federal public service, four think tanks, the British Embassy in Washington, D.C., and the offices of two Canadian Prime Ministers and a federal Cabinet Minister. She is the author of a number of publications on labour markets, incomes, productivity and technology. Her most recent work focuses on the role of natural capital in economic growth and the impact of environmental damage on growth and productivity. She is an alumna of McGill University, where she conducted both her undergraduate and graduate studies in economics
