Social Media Training for Carleton Alumni and Retirees – August 11 and August 25, 2021

Carolyn Goodman, alumna and president of Goodman Marketing, presented two sessions providing an overview of popular social media channels (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram) with the goal of helping Carleton alumni and retirees leverage social networks to stay connected with Carleton, fellow alumni and peers. Topics covered setting up your account(s), best practices, making connections and engaging with content.

Carolyn Goodman, BA/77, president of Goodman Marketing.
A graduate of Carleton with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology & Anthropology, Carolyn went on to graduate from Algonquin College with a Certificate in Creative Advertising. That launched her lifelong career in the field of marketing and advertising.

She spent nearly 40 years at some of the top ad agencies in Canada and the US, working on such well-known brands as Molson’s, Toyota, and Bell Canada. She started her own marketing agency in 2002 and attracted clients like Microsoft, Aon Insurance and Universal Studios. Four years ago she was lured away to lead marketing efforts for California Closets, a half-a-billion dollar company with franchises across the US, Canada, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

She currently resides just north of San Francisco with her husband, Peter, and they have raised 3 boys – one which graduated from Carleton in 2020. An active alumnus, Carolyn is the President of the Northern California Chapter of the Carleton Alumni Association.
