Rising Through Adversity: Cultivating Optimism for the Future

Presented by Komal Minhas (BJ/2012), Resilience Educator and Interviewer. Host of Lessons Learned podcast, investor, documentary film producer (Dream, Girl), recognized on Oprah Winfrey’s Super Soul 100 list.

Description:
This presentation will provide a first step in creating clarity for yourself in an overwhelming time. Conversation is critical to working through hard times and to helping us understand our own resilience.

Facing a global pandemic, and having the systemic anti-Black racism inherent in our country and society come to the forefront has caused significant transformation to take place. Both collectively and individually we are navigating and working through so much.

In this presentation you will learn and hear from resilience educator and interviewer, Komal Minhas, someone who loves hard conversations and storytelling, and who loves helping others find the strength, courage, and capacity to create an action plan for their life. By the end of this session, you will have a tangible plan for how to take the next right step in your life.

Hosted by Jamaal Jackson Rogers, JustJamaalThePoet. Independent artist, creative entrepreneur and arts educator, past Carleton Artist-in-Residence (winter term 2020) and Ottawa English Poet Laureate (2017-2019).
