Board of Governors Representative, Past President

Mat is Vice-President of Corporate Development at Dymech Engineering, where he leads and supports initiatives in licensing, partnerships and intellectual property, and contributes to due diligence and strategic intelligence for new platforms and service offerings.

A proud mechanical engineering graduate, Mat began volunteering with the Carleton University Alumni Association (CUAA) through the Engineering Chapter, becoming its President in 2012. He joined the CUAA Executive Council in 2016, served as CUAA President from 2019-2023, and now represents the CUAA on Carleton’s Board of Governors. In addition to his significant involvement and philanthropic leadership with the CUAA, Mat is also Chair of the Program Advisory Committee, Welding and Fabrication Techniques with Algonquin College, and a Guide in the Licensure Assistance Program with the Professional Engineers of Ontario.

Why give back?

I believe we burn brighter and see further when we lift one another. To quote Sir Isaac Newton “if I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants”. I strongly believe in giving back to my community and I have chosen CU for its inclusive and accepting culture. Always a Raven.
