Throwback

Throwback is Carleton University’s annual homecoming celebration, held each fall semester shortly after the start of the academic year. Throwback is a dedicated weekend for our alumni, staff, students, supporters and community members to gather on campus and celebrate the university’s traditions, progress and future. The weekend features a fun and action-packed schedule of events, including class and program reunions, family-friendly activities and community-building events. The highlight of Throwback is cheering on our Carleton Ravens as they take on the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees during the legendary Panda Game.

Throwback is open to Carleton’s broader community. In addition to seeing all our proud Carleton alumni and their families at Throwback events, the weekend is also an opportunity for the university to open its doors and welcome donors, supporters, corporate partners and community members to campus to partake in the celebrations.

Throwback event planning takes place throughout the year. The event schedule for the next Throwback weekend is released mid-summer and updated regularly as new events are added.

Yes, registration is required.

Even for free events, advance registration helps organizers plan for venue capacity, seating, catering, etc. You’ll need to register for each Throwback event individually — that way, you can build your own personalized itinerary and secure a spot at the activities that interest you most.

While many Throwback events are free to attend, some activities, and sporting events like the Panda Game, may require purchasing tickets or include registration fees. Please check each event listing on the Throwback Event Schedule for details.
