Brent Weatherdon (BEng/07, MEng/13)

Chapter President, National Capital Region

Brent is currently the Managing Director of BPA’s Kanata office (formerly Cleland Jardine Engineering Ltd). Brent has more than 18 years of experience in structural engineering and design and has led thousands of projects over the course of his career, including commercial renovations, renewable energy initiatives, seismic bracing designs and tenant fit-ups.

An active member of the Carleton University Alumni Association (CUAA), Brent served as President of the Engineering Chapter from 2016 to 2023 and now sits on the CUAA Executive Council as President of the National Capital Region Chapter. He is also a proud recipient of Ottawa’s Top 40 Under 40 award.

Why give back?

Some of my most cherished memories are from the time that I spent at Carleton. I met life-long friends, had an opportunity to try new experiences and was engaged in the coursework that ended up building the foundation of my career. I enjoy being involved with the alumni and giving back to Carleton to help ensure that students today can enjoy the same experiences that I did.
