A Special Recital with Dr. Elaine Keillor, C.M.

Carleton University’s Music Department is pleased to invite you to a special recital at the newly acquired Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre featuring Distinguished Research Professor Emerita.

Dr. Elaine Keillor, C.M.

Please join us in celebrating Dr. Keillor’s many contributions to Canada’s music heritage and to Carleton.

Dr. Elaine Keillor made her first public appearance as a pianist before her third birthday. She went on to become the first woman to receive a Ph.D. in musicology from the University of Toronto and Carleton’s first female music professor in 1977. In 2016, she was appointed to the Order of Canada for her work as a musicologist and historian of Canada’s musical heritage. With a transformational commitment to establish the Helmut Kallmann Chair for Music in Canada at Carleton University, Dr. Keillor will continue her legacy of bolstering and enriching research on Canadian music for years to come.

This complimentary presentation by Dr. Keillor will feature a musical journey through works by J.S. Bach, Haydn, Chopin, Debussy, Calixa Lavalle and Christine Donkin.
