What makes you a good mentor?

I think I will learn as much from my scholar, as they might learn from me. I have mentored many bright students in journalism, political science and the arts. It would be a pleasure to open my network of friends and business associates to someone interested in Government, Media, and the Arts.

About Rosemary Thompson

Rosemary Thompson is the Director of Communications, Public Affairs and the Corporate Secretary of the National Arts Centre (NAC). She has produced the royal unveiling of the Oscar Peterson statue in front of a live audience of 10,000 people, has produced concerts on the roof of the NAC to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of 9/11, and has help to build the national profile of Canada’s largest performing arts organization.

For 22 years she worked as a journalist for CBC and CTV National News, serving as Deputy Bureau Chief of the Parliamentary Bureau, Washington Correspondent and as Montreal Bureau Chief during a tumultuous time during Canadian history. She was on the lawn of the White House on the morning of 9/11 as CTV’s first female correspondent posted to Washington.

She is the winner of the 2014 Women in Communications National Leadership Award, the 2014 Ontario Women Building Community Award, is a Governor of Carleton University and is a member of the board of the Miracle League of Ottawa, a not-for-profit organization that will build the first ever baseball field and playground for children with disabilities in Canada.
