What makes you a good mentor?

I have had the benefit of having great role models in my life: my parents and siblings provided great examples of how to conduct business and give back to my community. I want the opportunity to share my experiences with others, to help them be successful in their careers.

About Brendan Marsden

I currently lead a team of foreign exchange professionals assisting Canadian businesses be competitive globally. As the world becomes more of a global market, Canadian companies need to manage their foreign exchange risk and exposure. The most rewarding part of my job is assisting Not-For-Profit organization get more of their donations to the projects they are working on in Africa and remote areas of the world.

In the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, I was part of the team that revolutionized the credit card market in Canada. Through affinity marketing, Canadians could show their support for the favourite hockey team, football team or university. In addition, MBNA changed the way Canadians used credit cards, by consolidating balances in one spot. This low rate option was something not offered to Canadians at time, and it is now widely available.
