What makes you a good mentor?
When I was in University I had no idea what the working life was like, how to get a job, or any connections. This is a program I would have loved to have been apart of being a student or young adult. I want to give back to the community where I spent so much time.
About Sarah McLaughlin
I graduated from Carleton at the end of 2014 and have been working for Jp2g Consultants since then. I did the co-op program through Carleton in 2012 and 2013 where I gained valuable experience at the City of Ottawa. While in school, one thing I managed to figure out, was that I was not interested in structural engineering. I loved transportation and did my 4th year project in that discipline. However, now, majority of my work is municipal engineering – watermains, sewers, drainage grading, stormwater management, etc.
Outside of engineering I try to stay active. I love sports, volunteering, and being goofy. I play hockey, participate in OSSC sports, snowboard, and pretty much anything outside and putting on a sweat!
