What makes you a good mentor?

As a recent graduate I enjoy remaining connected to the university, enjoy meeting new people, and continuing my ongoing learning in Economics. As a volunteer of an alumni group, collaborating with students and student groups provides a way to pass on knowledge and build a social and professional network.

About Glen Barber

Glen is a graduate of the BA and MA program of Carleton’s Economics Department. Glen concentrated in Finance, and was interested in political economy, monetary policy and macroeconomics.

Currently, Glen is an employee of the Federal Government, where he works at the Office of the Auditor General of Canada. In the past he has worked at Employment and Social Development Canada, Shared Services Canada, and the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat. Glen works in the fields of information technology, audit, program evaluation, project management, and risk management.

During his time at Carleton, Glen was the President of Carleton’s Economics Society, and has been a volunteer with Carleton’s Economics Alumni Chapter. Glen is currently the External Relations representative for the CUAA.

In his spare time, Glen likes to ski, canoe, skydive, exercise, read nonfiction books, play chess, and volunteer around the city.
