Throwback – Carleton’s homecoming celebration – welcomes thousands of alumni back to campus every fall. It is a chance to reconnect with fellow alumni, faculty and current students. Watching this renewed tradition grow over the past four years has been a source of great Carleton pride. Each year approximately 10,000 alumni come back to Carleton for Throwback and in the past four years Throwback has welcomed alumni back to campus to participate in over 20 different events each year. This year’s Throwback promises to build on this successful tradition. Not only is it our 5th annual Throwback, but 2017 marks Carleton University’s 75th anniversary and Canada’s 150th birthday. Please join us in 2017 to celebrate Carleton University – both what it means to you and for role it has played in our city and our country. Carleton is truly here for good. You don’t want to miss it. CU there!
President of the Carleton University Alumni Association
Throwback 2016 was a great success. Thousands of alumni, students and the Carleton community came out to support our Ravens and more than 20 other events the University hosts during Throwback. The football team has come a long way and showed a lot of progress. A couple of years ago that game wouldn’t have been close, but now the expectations have changed and when it was over it was more a question of why or how we lost than can we beat them. Moving forward I believe that Throwback is starting to become an integral part of the campus life in the fall. It kicks off the new academic year and brings back many alumni to campus. With such a milestone year ahead as Carleton celebrates its 75th anniversary, and Canada’s 150th birthday, this will only make Throwback the go to event in 2017. Go Ravens Go!
Ravens football coach
At the Carleton University Students’ Association, we always look forward to cheering on the Ravens football team at Throwback. Not only is it a great way to kick off the football season, but homecoming is a fantastic opportunity to come together and celebrate as a university community. For new students, it’s a chance to get a taste of Ravens pride at its best, and for returning alumni it’s a chance to relive some wonderful memories. The weekend has become an integral part of campus culture over the past few years and it’s always an incredible experience to be in the crowd cheering on our home team. And since this year is Carleton’s 75th anniversary (and CUSA’s, too) homecoming is also an excellent time reflect on past achievements and look to the future. We have so much to celebrate here at Carleton, and homecoming is the perfect occasion to do just that. It’s always a blast – make sure you don’t miss it!
