Christina Gold currently sits on the board of ITT Corporation. A Director since 1997 she brings to the board her broad range of financial, communications, and consumer experience and expertise. Since 2011 Mrs. Gold has also served as a board director of ITT Exelis Inc. and is chairman of their Audit Committee.
Since 2001 she has served on the board of the New York Life Insurance Company. She is chair of the Insurance and Operations Committee, a member of the Audit Committee and of the Corporate Organization and Compensation Committee. Mrs. Gold serves as a Global Counsellor of the Conference Board Inc in New York and has served as a Director of the Conference Board of Canada. She is also a board member of the Safe Water Network.
Mrs. Gold was President and Chief Executive Officer of The Western Union Company, a leading company in global money transfer, from September of 2006 to September of 2010. From May 2002 to September 2006, Mrs. Gold was President of Western Union Financial Services, Inc. and Senior Executive Vice President of Western Union’s parent company, First Data Corporation.
Prior to joining First Data Corp, she was chairman, president and CEO of Excel Communications (’99 -’02), and president and CEO of The Beaconsfield Group (‘98 – ’99).
Mrs. Gold served as a Director of Torstar Corporation, the broad-based Canadian media company from 1998 – 2007. She was a member of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and a member of the Salary and Organization Committee.
In 1970 she joined Avon Products, Inc. and served as President of Avon Canada from 1989 to 1993, President of Avon North America from 1993 to 1997, and Executive Vice President of Global Development from 1997 to 1998.
Mrs. Gold was ranked as one of the top 50 women in business in 2003 by Fortune magazine. She received the Award of Distinction – Faculty of Commerce & Administration from Concordia University in Montreal. Mrs. Gold also received the “Batisseur“, an honorary degree from the Professional Business School of Montreal (Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales de Montreal), in recognition of her distinguished service to the business community.
