Giving a little can mean a lot

The Carleton University Alumni Association proved this in 2003 when it launched an innovative fundraising program for student aid. The Alumni Giveback program gives graduates the option of adding a small donation--only $5 or $10--on top of the discounted ticket prices for select alumni events.

The voluntary contribution is being matched by the alumni association, then matched AGAIN by the provincial government under the Ontario Trust for Student Support. Without spending an extra penny, it turns $5 into $20 or $10 into $40 for the Carleton University Alumni Association Bursary Fund.

Just by attending events such as the Leadership Luncheons, alumni have raised thousands for scholarships and bursaries.
